I have yet to figure out this book banning nonsense. That is usually reserved for dictatorships. As for the uproar over drag queen story hour, I fail to see how this can possibly harm children. They are probably focused on the story that the lady is reading to them. You do have my sympathy on the rest room issue though.
I am sure those in power believe that banning books will prevent kids from "turning gay," or from becoming whatever it is that is most feared by those politicians. Fearmongering is this funny thing; if they keep us busy being afraid of one another, they hope we will not see the nefarious things they're doing elsewhere. It's a very effective tactic.
