I found this so moving. What a beautiful space -- the refiguring of boundaries, the sense of sanctuary -- thank you for letting us in.

Looks very peaceful, Robin. But as fearless as I am of humans, I'm afraid of bees and couldn't get near your lovely garden. 😂 My safe space is in the mountains of Colorado. It's where I sometimes go during meditation, too. Very few bugs up there. 😆

I am also not a fan of some bugs (mosquitoes, spiders in the shower...), but I do enjoy seeing all the pollinating ones in my garden. The mountains of Colorado are also very beautiful and peaceful. That's a great choice.

Wow! What a beautiful garden!

As you were speaking, your voice so grounded, I could feel my tears well up.

And I did feel the safety inside the bounds of this garden.

What an honor to see it, and thank you for trusting us to view it.

I held it in its lush green and gorgeousness.

Thanks for taking us into your garden. Having lived in a condo in a town just outside of Chicago, I still miss my gardening, the flowers and the veggies, the first dew drops of the season. Peace, Fondly, Michael

My solace is that my condo unit is on the fourth floor overlooking a third floor roof top garden with grass, trees, flowers, etc. It is a public space for the building. Also, I can go to the Chicago Botanic Garden to get my fill of nature. But there is no substitute for getting dirt under one's finger nails! Thanks. Fondly, Michael

Thank you, Michael. You're always welcome in my garden. I bet there are some beautiful green spaces in Chicago, too. I haven't been there in many years.

Robin, what a privilege to visit your garden. Well — garden might be an understatement. I never expected a fully functional vegetable garden, greenhouse included. Maybe one day you’ll let us into your kitchen as well. I could see how seriously you tend this place — how much it is yours, and your refuge. I know the joy that comes from working in the garden and later harvesting what you have sown. Thank you for this glimpse into your inner sanctuary, and for showing more of your inner world to us. I truly appreciate your creativity today in switching the medium to video. Grateful for your continued participation in #PrideOnThePage.

It's nice to open my garden gate to friends, Jay. Though I think you'd be less impressed by the kitchen. While we do eat a lot from the garden, we're pretty simple in how we prepare things. The kids and I frequently walk through the garden and munch on raw things out there as we pick or watch the ladybugs eat aphids. I will say that we make some exquisite pies, breads, and ice cream flavors with all the berries!

Robin,

Thank you for opening up your garden to us.

It’s a reminder to me to prioritize my garden as I’m pondering where my next move will take me.

Such a lovely, healing space!

I think we all need access to outdoor spaces no matter where we live. Human-made things are nice, but it’s also good to be reminded that we came from dirt.

Happy Pride, Larry! Yes, the bees are great neighbors to share space with. And it is a lot of work, but it's the kind of work that I look forward to. It brings me back to life.

There's so much talk about mental, emotional, and relationship boundaries that I think we often overlook the simplicity of physical boundaries like this one.

And thanks for joining me in the garden, Keith.
