Gender affirmation can come in a variety of forms, including as jam made with our own marionberries and raspberries—hence the name, “MR jam”—which both I and my trans kiddo love to make in the summer and eat all through the winter, all the while calling one another “mister” or “sir,” simply because it makes us happy.

For the month of December I’m writing One Sentence Stories (OSS) every day as a way to find a little light in the darkness. They’re all true. They’re all 100% real.
