labels
a one sentence story
labels
Labels, used for wine bottles or book covers or people, can be beautiful or artistic or curious or inviting or terrifying, and as a fervent wine label and book cover enthusiast, hell, as a people enthusiast, one of the best parts about using a label to find something or someone is the ways in which their content somehow betrays that label, how they sneak in a story you didn’t expect, how their flavor takes time on the tongue to be calculated and interpreted, how their swirling, ethereal, poetic interiors defy what we see on the outside, and if every label said everything about the contents and the character and the dreams and the faults and the flaws inside then would we lose our sense of wonder?
For the month of December I’m writing One Sentence Stories (OSS) every day as a way to find a little light in the darkness. They’re all true. They’re all 100% real. And yes, run-on sentences are somewhat required. You can also join in the fun if you’d like. As long as your story is one single sentence, it’s a fit! Feel free to tag me in a note so that I can read along and share your stories with others.
Your trans friend,
Robin
